Prestera Health Services Joins as Partner in Federally Funded RISE Fellowship Program to Expand Behavioral Health Workforce
Huntington, WV – July 7, 2025 — Prestera Health Services is proud to announce its partnership with Lindsey Wilson College as part of the newly awarded HRSA BHWET grant initiative, the RISE Fellowship (Resilience, Integration, and Support Expansion). This innovative and federally funded program aims to strengthen the behavioral health workforce by expanding access to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care for children, adolescents, and young adults in underserved and rural communities across West Virginia and Kentucky.
Through this partnership, Prestera Health will provide supervised clinical training opportunities for graduate-level counseling students, helping prepare the next generation of highly skilled professionals to meet the growing mental health needs in our region.
Key Benefits for Student Fellows:
- $25,000 stipend for tuition, travel, and living expenses
- Certification in Clinical Telemental Health and Trauma-Informed Care
- Pre-practicum training and onboarding
- Supervised fieldwork at approved Prestera sites
- Recognition at the Annual LWC Mental Health Symposium
Supervisor Participation Benefits:
- $1,000 stipend per semester
- CE-eligible training in trauma-informed care, adolescent intervention, and telehealth
- Free registration for the Annual LWC Mental Health Symposium
The first cohort of RISE Fellows begins in Fall 2025, with applications due by August 1. Prestera will serve as a clinical training site, offering real-world, high-impact experience for students while expanding local capacity for behavioral health care.
This collaboration furthers Prestera’s commitment to growing the behavioral health workforce and supporting innovative programs that bring care to those who need it most.
