QRT (Quick Response Team)

The Quick Response Team (QRT) is an evidence-based intervention aimed at connecting individuals who have recently overdosed with treatment for substance use disorders. Within 24-72 hours of a non-fatal overdose, the QRT engages individuals to develop a patient-centered treatment plan. The team comprises peer support specialists, law enforcement, and EMS. Individuals seeking immediate treatment are transported to facilities offering withdrawal management, substance use disorder residential treatment, Medication-Assisted Treatment, or outpatient programs. The QRT maintains follow-up with individuals in treatment or conducts home visits to engage those not currently in treatment.
